The mayor of Smiths Station, a small town in Lee County, Alabama, has died by suicide. According to U.S. media, Bubba Copeland (49), the mayor of Smiths Station and a Baptist pastor, took his own life on the 3rd (local time).
Elected as the mayor of Smiths Station in 2016, Copeland died two days after photos of him dressed and made up as a woman were exposed to the media, revealing his identity as a transgender individual.
According to 1819 News, Copeland operated a secret Instagram account under the name ‘Brittany Blair Summerlin’, where he expressed his gender identity as a transgender woman.
This account featured various photos of Copeland dressed in women’s clothing. Included were images of him wearing a bra and posing provocatively, wearing women’s clothes, and smiling broadly.
In addition to his own photos, he also frequently posted transgender pornography. He left inappropriate comments on these pornographic posts, which were not fitting for his status as a pastor.
That’s not all. Copeland also wrote at least four novels, including an erotic novel about killing a local business owner, and a novel about how he secretly filmed female customers in his grocery store for his personal collection.
Furthermore, it was revealed that Copeland had also posted photos of local women on pornographic websites.
According to the media, while Copeland was actively living as a transgender woman on his ‘back account’, he regularly preached and sang at the First Baptist Church in Phenix City, Alabama, fulfilling his pastoral duties.
