[MyDaily = Kwak Myeong-dong Reporter] Noah Schnapp (19), famous for Netflix’s *Stranger Things*, is facing criticism for his comment that Zionism is sexy.
Newsweek reported on the 16th (local time) that “Noah Schnapp has lost numerous followers on social media over the past few weeks due to his pro-Israeli comments.”
Schnapp, a Jewish-American actor, stirred controversy by posing with stickers that read “Zionism is sexy” and “Hamas is ISIS (Islamic State)” on social media.
As a result of this post, Schnapp lost over 490,000 Instagram followers in just 30 days, and more than 11,000 people unfollowed him on X (formerly Twitter).
Merriam-Webster defines Zionism as “originally an international movement to establish a Jewish state or religious community in Palestine, but later a movement supporting modern Israel.”
Gal Gadot, the Israeli actress famous for *Wonder Woman*, has previously faced criticism for mentioning Zionism in the context of the conflict between Israel and Middle Eastern countries.
Schnapp gained attention for his portrayal of the main character Will in the Netflix original series *Stranger Things*. Will was often speculated to be gay by viewers due to his apparent affection for Mike Wheeler in the series.
In January, he came out as gay.
