Hello, I am Lim Tae-hee, the Superintendent of Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education.
Today, on the 84thNational Martyrs’ Day,
I think of those who dedicated their lives to our country
and bow my head in deep respect and remembrance.
I appreciate all the efforts of those who prepared the ceremony and the members of the Gyeonggi Province branch of the Korean Liberation Association
and all the distinguished guests,
as well as the meritorious patriots, and their families who attended this meaningful event
I would like to express my deepest gratitude.
November 17, 1905, is the day whenour national sovereignty was violated by the Japanese Empireand the Eulsa Treaty was forcibly enacted.
The name ‘National Martyrs’ Day’
originates from the ‘Joint Commemoration Day for National Martyrs’established by the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea in 1939
However, there are still many people who do not know what this day signifies
or how to commemorate it.
The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education is committed to teaching our history correctly and reflecting on historical lessons. We will strive to educate future generations about the noble patriotism of our independence activists.
Respected members of the Gyeonggi education family, distinguished guests,
the new Gyeonggi education, which is at the center of future education,
is based on the three principles of ‘autonomy’, ‘balance’, and ‘future’. We are working hard to cultivate future talents who have basic personality and basic capabilities
. .
Schools are enhancing their autonomy to operate unique educational activities
and creating a school culture that respects the balance between school rights and student rights.
Various programs are being operated for the future education of students..
However, a happy future education for children
is possible when it is backed by strong national power..
And for us, a peaceful and safe lifecan be protected when the country exists firmly.
Our country can maintain its existence firmly..
New Gyeonggi education will teach the right love for the country to the students who will lead the future of the Republic of Korea.
We are practicing and,
in order to become a respected country in the world, and a respected citizen
we will spread character education and world peace education..
For the cultivation of talents who will lead the future of the Republic of Korea,
we will move toward the right path of education looking a hundred years ahead..
Dear citizens of Gyeonggi Province,, dear meritorious persons and their families,,
Our country, which was once one of the poorest countries in the world,
has now developed into a stage where it has risen to the ranks of advanced countries..
From a country that was eager to accept foreign cultures,
our culture and art are now leading the world..
All of this is because of the patriotic spirit of the national heroes who struggled to protect the country even under the harsh oppression of the powers,
and their noble sacrifice.
That’s why we have been able to achieve this..
Because of their dedication to the country,
the Republic of Korea as it is now could be achieved..
Today, at this commemoration, we deeply engrave the noble will of the national heroes in our hearts,,{vi833}
and I hope it will be a time to keep the love for the country in our hearts..
I pray for the peace and blessings of the national heroes with both hands,,
and wish for the health and happiness of everyone present..
