World number one, Novak Djokovic of Serbia, who triumphed at the ATP Tour Finals, the last tennis tournament of the season and the king of kings, expressed his satisfaction with his performance this year, calling it “one of the best seasons of his life.”
Djokovic defeated fourth-ranked Italian, Jannik Sinner, 2-0 (6-3 6-3) in the singles final on the last day of the tournament held in Turin, Italy on November 20 (Korean time).
Having lost to Sinner in the group stage, Djokovic perfectly took his revenge in the final, clinching the championship trophy.
Djokovic, who achieved a second consecutive victory in the tournament, climbed to the top of the event for the seventh time, surpassing retired Roger Federer (six times) and setting a new record for the most wins.
Djokovic received a prize money of $4,411,500 (approximately 5.71 billion KRW).

In a post-match press conference, Djokovic said, “It’s one of the best seasons of my life,” adding, “It’s an extraordinary thing to win against an Italian hero in Sinner’s hometown.”
Djokovic, who secured the world number one spot early on, also set a milestone of maintaining the world number one position for a total of 400 weeks.
Although the season schedule has all wrapped up, Djokovic’s journey this year is not over yet.
He will participate as a representative of Serbia in the Davis Cup, a national competition to be held in Malaga, Spain next week. Serbia will face the UK in the quarterfinals.
