[Herald Economy=Lee Won-yul] Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has extended an invitation to former U.S. President Donald Trump, a leading candidate for the Republican party’s presidential nomination.
In an interview aired on NBC in the U.S. on the 5th (local time), President Zelensky said, “I only need 24 minutes to explain that former President Trump could not manage this war,” emphasizing that “we cannot bring peace to the battlefield because of Russian President Vladimir Putin.”
In a previous interview in May, former President Trump claimed, “If I were president, I would end that war in one day. It would take 24 hours,” and “the negotiation would be easy.”

At that time, President Zelensky pointed out, “It seems that former President Trump already had 24 hours during his term. Even then, we were in a war, not a full-scale war, so he could use that time as he pleased, but he must have had other priorities,” and added, “The desire to end the war is beautiful. But such a desire should be based on actual experience.”
He also said, “If it is about ending the war as a payoff for Ukraine, making us give up territory, then Biden (current U.S. President) could have ended the war in 5 minutes in this way. But we would not agree to that.”
