The Israeli military, stepping up its ground offensive in the Gaza Strip, has reportedly seized one of Hamas’s strongholds.
On the 6th (local time), the Israeli military announced in a statement that it had captured a Hamas stronghold, including observation posts, training camps, and underground tunnels, and killed a number of Hamas members in the process.
In another battle, the Israeli military eliminated several Hamas field commanders. The Israeli military reported that its fighter jets had struck 450 Hamas targets, including underground tunnels, military bases, observation posts, and anti-tank missile launch sites, over the past 24 hours, and in the process, eliminated Jamal Musa, the leader of Hamas’s special operations unit.
The Israeli military had previously announced that it had completely surrounded Gaza City and divided the Gaza Strip into north and south.
Local media reported that the Israeli military is expected to enter Gaza City within 48 hours and begin full-scale urban warfare.
The Israeli military announced that it has opened evacuation routes for civilians in anticipation of full-scale urban warfare.
Meanwhile, the Gaza Strip’s Health Ministry, governed by Hamas, announced that more than 200 people had been killed overnight in the Israeli military’s airstrikes.
