According to the White House on the 17th (local time), Jill Biden, the wife of U.S. President Joe Biden, hosted a mental health event at Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino, California, for the spouses of the leaders of the APEC participating countries.

Rosé of BLACKPINK, who attended the event, drew attention. Jill Biden introduced Rosé as a “global superstar who uses her status as a force for good in the world,” adding, “She bravely shared her story in the hope of helping others by actively raising her voice to address mental health issues.”

She emphasized the importance of discussing such matters, no matter how difficult, stating, “Just as we eat food for physical health and fitness, mental health also needs to be cared for as much as or more than physical health in order to be maintained.”

Rosé also shared, “The journey to success as a singer was not easy, and there are still occasional difficulties, but I’ve realized the importance of valuing myself.”

Lastly, Rosé added that she hopes her music, based on these experiences, can provide inspiration and comfort to many people.

In response, Jill Biden said, “We often hide, keep secret, and ignore these issues, but we can start healing only when we expose them and speak honestly.”
